I was born in the United States in the upstate New York region, in Rochester. Of Italian heritage, both my parents bore and raised 8 children. I am the oldest of 4 girls and 4 boys mostly living in the northeast including my 98 year old mother, Margaret.
Albert, my father, was a Doctor of Chiropractic...and I followed in his footsteps...In Chiropractic school, we students were required to take numerous classes in anatomy and one of those classes was physical dissection of a human cadaver...In that process, I had to 'draw on paper' for assignment, each session's progress and nuances gleaned in my observations; i.e., bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, internal organs etc.
Unbeknownst to me, this was the beginning of my artistic career. When I was not in class and at home or about, I started to draw interiors of rooms, streetscapes, landscapes, and figurative work. I did become a chiropractor and practiced for many years in California and New York but concurrently, I endeavored to become a visual artist, taking live model classes, sketching people in libraries where they would be still for periods of time enough to get a good exercise in figure drawing....l started to add color to what I was doing In the form of pastels and oil paint; also started to create 3 dimensional art in the form of Assemblage, Collage and Wall sculpture.
I have been working at my art for over 50 years now.
In addition to Fine Art Prints and Original Artworks, I also offer custom, Commissioned Artwork! You can learn more about that process on this page
